Cadiz Police Department Taking Alternative Approach to Combat Drug Problem

A local police department is taking a different approach to combat the growing drug problem in the area.

The Cadiz Police Department now has magazines that cover the topics of drugs, domestic violence, scams and bullying and peer pressure.
Police Chief Ryan McCann says he was approached by a national company who distributes these magazines, and he picked four magazines out of eight or nine to choose from, based on what he sees on an everyday basis in the village and throughout Harrison County.

McCann is hoping that these magazines can serve as an educational tool for people.

Thanks to area businesses sponsoring the magazine, the program is free to the police department. The magazines can be picked up at the police department and at various businesses in town.
