Four Cameron High School FFA members placed in the National Proficiency Contest.
Students Jordan Hart, Nathan Hixenbaugh, Ronna Walker, and Samantha White were named 2015 National FFA Organization Proficiency Award finalists.
The four CHS FFA members were recognized for the specialized skills each acquired through supervised agricultural experiences.
Walker earned a gold rating for her involvement with Food Science and Technology. She is one of only two from West Virginia to earn a top honor and the first gold recipient in proficiency in CHS FFA history.
The other three members received a bronze rating; Hart for Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management, Hixenbaugh for Home and/or Community Development, and White for Poultry Production.
Each finalist will attend the 88th National FFA Convention and Expo in Louisville, Kentucky in October to accept a $500 cash award and a plaque.
