Police arrested Jamaine Sykes Thursday morning at the Heritage Place Apartments.

When police arrived, they found Tashonda Birden and Sykes, who identified himself as Jamie Smith, inside arguing. When asked for his middle initial, they say Sykes told them he did not have one and then ran towards an apartment, attempting to get inside.

During their pursuit, Sykes allegedly slammed the door on an officer’s hand in an attempt to escape.
