The city of Wheeling is doing some holiday preparations before this year’s Christmas Parade.
Erb Electric was in Centre Wheeling today, hanging lights in the trees surrounding Centre Market. But the lights hanging here and on Market and Main Streets will look a little different this year.
The 1-thousand strands of lights are now L-E-D bulbs which will look brighter and use less electricity–and they should all be ready before the Christmas parade.
“We’re going to have to get the lights hung, the timers programmed, little glitches fixed. So, we’ll work on those this week so that when we have the parade, the streets will look beautiful for the parade,” Wheeling Chamber of Commerce President Erikka Storch told 7News.
The lights were purchased with donations and sponsorships, and Lowe’s gave the Chamber of Commerce a generous discount.
