Clean Up Under Way after Dump Truck Carrying Asphalt Rolls into Creek


Emergency Management personnel, the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and clean up crews are working to clear the scene after a dump truck carrying asphalt rolled into a creek in Marshall County.

It happened about 11 a.m. on Majorsville Road at the Markwest Plant.

According to Marshall County EMA director, Tom Hart, the dump truck rolled into a creek, spilling some of the black top into the running water.

The driver was injured in the accident and was transported by ambulance to a hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

An environmental clean up company was brought it to remove the asphalt from the creek. The WVDEP remains at the scene.
