Cleveland man pleads guilty to possession of controlled substance

A Cleveland man has pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance in Belmont County and now faces up to 3 years in jail.

Antonio Knott pled to the third degree felony before Judge Fregiato, and what makes this plea hearing unique is that it was held on a Sunday.

Usually, plea hearings are held only on weekdays, but Judge Fregiato said a jury trial was scheduled for Tuesday, so the defendant needed to enter his plea beforehand.

The jury trial will now be cancelled because he has pled guilty.
