ZANESVILLE, Ohio (AP) – A former Ohio college student accused of murder for giving birth to her baby in a sorority house bathroom and disposing of it has testified that she was denial about her pregnancy.
Emile Weaver, who initially told investigators that she didn’t know she was pregnant, testified Friday in her aggravated murder trial in Zanesville. She told jurors she denied being pregnant when asked by members of her Delta Gamma Theta sorority at Muskingum University – and continued to deny it herself.
The 21-year-old Weaver is accused of putting the infant girl in a trash bag and leaving her outside the sorority house last April 22. The child died from asphyxiation.
Weaver testified that she thought the baby was dead when she put it in the trash bag.
