The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley had a chance to thank donors for being so generous this year, raising more than $2 million in grants and scholarships.
They joined more than 700 other community foundations across the country for “Community Foundation Week” activities.
At a lunch Thursday afternoon, they celebrated such a successful 2015.
Since the year 2000, the Community Foundation of the Ohio Valley has grown from 69 funds to 226.
“We’ve grown so much that now people are investing in their community, though the community foundation, and so much so we’re able to make 2 million dollars in grants and scholarships to it means it a lot,” said Susie Nelson, with the foundation.
One of the biggest fundraisers of the year, The Amazing Raise, raised $426,000 dollars this year.
Mark your calendars for the next giving event, on May 3rd next year.
