Congressman David McKinley Holds Roundtable Discussion For Veterans

West Virginia Congressman David McKinley made his way around the northern panhandle, stopping at various locations to hear what residents have on their mind.

One of his stops was at the American Legion in Wellsburg where he held a veterans roundtable discussion. Representative McKinley says this is his way to reach out to the local veterans to hear what kind of issues and concerns are on their minds. Commander of the Wellsburg American Legion Post Kenny Barett appreciated his visit.

“I guess it’s important because somebody needs to listen to the vets. They’re not getting treated fairly, I don’t think,” said Barett.

During the roundtable, the discussion then went to the looming smoking ban that is set to go into effect on Wednesday.

Veterans are worried that it will shut down legions and clubs just like this one. Representative McKinley says he will see what he can do about the issue.
