Dozens of Union contractors and construction businesses are displaying their crafts at the 2016 Construction Career Trades Showcase at WesBanco Arena.
Business representatives are on hand to answer any questions as well as show off what their business specializes in.
The showcase, hosted by Project Best and the Upper Ohio Valley Building Construction Trades, is a way for young people and those looking for a job in the industry to talk one on one with business reps as well as see their product.
Students from area high schools were invited and had the chance to talk with those business representatives, sign up for apprenticeships as well as get some hands on experience.
“Well obviously college isn’t for everybody and we have people who like to work with their hands and we offer a good career that you don’t end up with student debut we train you and you earn a wage and great benefits and retirement and healthcare,” said Scott Mazzulli, business representative at Sheet Metal 33.
Mazzulli added that once an apprenticeship is completed most people can score a $50,000-$70,000 a year job.
If you’d like to stop by you have until 8:00 Thursday night to do so
Again it’s all taking place at WesBanco Arena.
