One thing about all this recent rain, it sure hasn’t felt much like summer time.
The constant rain is having an impact on many outdoor venues across the Ohio Valley.
On Tuesday WTRF.com stopped by Wheeling Park, an area adored by those wanting to get in a quick round of golf, a cool dip in the pool, or a stroll around the lake.
But the threat of heavy rain had the course nearly empty and the pool was about the same.
It hasn’t been the best of conditions for those that enjoy being outdoors, but the workers at the park aren’t giving up hope just yet.
“We’re still open. The only time we close is if there’s thunder or lightning. The rain doesn’t keep us from closing. We still let people golf, swim, take the boats out, and miniature golf,” added Wheeling Park’s Mike Potts.
Potts added the rain hasn’t really affected day camp, because as long as there’s no lightning the kids still get to swim.
Day camp runs until the end of next month.
