Council Rest in Karl Halstead Trial


 Both the defense and prosecution have rested their cases in the Karl Halstead trial Tuesday afternoon.  The 71-year-old is charged with conspiracy and aiding and abetting first degree sexual assault.

Earlier this year, his son Kevin Halstead pleaded guilty to first degree sexual assault, among other charges.  Tuesday morning the jury heard disturbing testimony from the 9-year-old victim who described exactly how both Halsteads raped him.  An expert witness in child psychology as well as Karl Halstead testified as well.

The jury has been dismissed for the evening and will return Wednesday to deliberate. We will let you know as soon as the jury reaches a verdict.
