The countdown has begun for the National Day of giving called Give Local America, which starts at 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, it also marks the beginning for one the largest fundraiser for non-profit organizations in the Ohio Valley.
When the clock strikes midnight let the 24-hours of giving commence for the second annual ‘Amazing Raise Ohio Valley’ an online giving event geared toward raising money for 98 local non-profit organizations that touch the lives of so many of us here in the Ohio Valley.
Coordinators with the event say there is an organization for everyone to get involved with and support. Last year the event was a huge success raising over $357,000 for 92 participating organizations.
“We’ll see if we can beat, our numbers from last year, which were pretty impressive $357,000 in one 24-hour period, so we’ll see if the Ohio Valley will step up again, which I’m sure they will and see if we can beat that this year,” said Susie Nelson, Executive Director for the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley.
If you are interested in donating to one of the participants, visit GiveOV.org and select the group(s) in which you would like to support. Minimum donations can be made in any increment from $10.00 and up and would be accepted through 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
