One couple from Michigan shares the joy of raising two beautiful daughters, but the pair have another thing in common.
Shelby and Ben Offrink are both battling cancer while raising their 3-year-old daughter Maeve and their one-year-old daughter Hazel.
According to the Offrink’s YouCaring page, Shelby, 31, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an incurable form of cancer, in her spine, which has now spread to her brain.
Ben, 34, was told he was entering his third battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma while Shelby began receiving treatments for her cancer.
According to their YouCaring page, Ben’s treatments require him to be away from home for extended periods of time.
Friends of the Offrink’s made a recent update on their page letting viewers know that Ben and Shelby have enrolled Maeve and Hazel in daycare three days a week, which allows Ben to spend more time with Shelby, and for the couple to focus on their treatments.
Ben and Shelby have received countless donations from family, friends, and strangers on their page. They have received almost $70,000 to cover medical costs and household costs in raising their two daughters.
