Crazed Clown With Machete Reported in Steubenville


Reports of a crazed clown are being investigated in Steubenville.

Chief McCafferty says there was another report of a “crazed clown” being spotted in Steubenville.

According to police, two men came into the police department at 5:00 a.m. and said they were chased by a man in a clown mask with a machete on Lincoln Ave.

“They’re lucky it was us, because somebody else could have shot them,” said one Steubenville resident.

Steubenville police aren’t sure if this is someone out to hurt people or if it’s a prank. They are checking cameras they have in these neighborhoods to see if they caught anything.

Police say this was near the entrance to Beatty Park. This makes two “crazed clown” spottings in the city. The first spotting was reported in Pleasant Heights.
