Defense Rests Case in Blankenship Trial

The defense team of former Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship rested their case Monday morning, without bringing in any witnesses to the stand of their own, The State Journal, is reporting.

Attorneys spent Friday and the first couple hours Monday morning arguing motions mostly related to the admission of evidence.

The defense initially seemed to plan to bring in witnesses, and even had one witness waiting outside the courtroom this morning.

Tuesday, the jury will return and be given instructions after closing arguments.
