A massive piece of concrete fell from the overpass pier above Friday afternoon near the Oglebay exit on Interstate 70 near Perkins.
Local law enforcement notified the West Virginia Department of Highways of the falling pieces of concrete.
The DOH says the concrete did fall from a pier and not the bridge deck itself. They do have crews on the way to the scene to check out the pier and look into what caused the concrete to fall.
Fortunately no cars or people were hit by the falling debris. We’ll continue to keep you updated.
