Members of Steelworkers Local 2911 members got an update a short time ago from Dave McCall, their chief negotiator.
This is after ArcelorMittal walked away from their contract negotiations over the weekend.
USW presented what they believe is a comprehensive contract proposal.
Union President Mark Glyptis said the contract they presented was turned down, despite them trying to find ways to save the company money.
“We’re not here to talk about a strike or a labor dispute in any way we are here to give them information about whats been happening at the bargaining table. It’s not a meeting to request strike authorization,” said USW District 1 Director David McCall.
There was a good turnout to hear updates from their District Director.
