Dowdel Trial enters Second Day of Testimony

A Harrison County murder trial enters it’s second day of testimony in Harrison County.

A number of witnesses were called to the stand during day one of Matthew Dowdel’s trial .

Dowdel is the man accused of murdering Joseph Strother at Sally Buffalo Park last spring. He is facing numerous charges including murder, felonious assault and grand theft of a motor vehicle.

During the hearing, BCI Agent Joshua Durst, who collected evidence at the scene, described the state in which he found Strother’s body.

“In this case what we do is feel the skull and see if it was in tact this was not,” Durst said. “The back of his skull was soft. Felt like there may be a fracture.”

Also testifying Tuesday were Strother’s son and wife who both said they tried contacting and looking for Strother when he went missing.

The rolling pin which was allegedly used to kill Strother, photo evidence of the scene and photos of the car found in Bridgeport were shown to the jury.
