Ohio County Schools are three days into the year, and so far it’s been a good three days.
On Wednesday morning though, 7News This Morning caught some students by surprise along the Glenwood Road route.
They were greeted by not only light and a TV cameras but their Superintendent Dr. Dianna Vargo.
Dr. Vargo rides the bus at the start of every school year to welcome students back.
On Monday she was with a younger crowd of elementary school students but on Wednesday, she joined some Wheeling Park High School students on their ride to the top of the hill.
“The opening of school is such an exciting time of the school year and our faculty. administrators and staff work so hard to prepare for the opening of school and just seeing our students arrive for their first day and first week is an exciting time for all of us,” said Vargo.
Ohio County has more than 40 buses that take 40 different routes. The first bus pulls out around 5:30 in the morning to start the day.
Dr Vargo has been superintendent since January 2012.
