Teachers from all over the Edison Local school district met in groups for Professional Development Day to discuss how they can work together throughout the year.
Each month, Edison Local School District teachers meet with Mike White, a consultant, who provides them with instruction and teaching strategies in order to find out what they need to do for their students to succeed.
Monday’s topic was “Professional Learning Communities” and Assistant Superintendent Kim Wadas says teachers are learning through this process by working with other teachers.
“It’s important for our teachers to work together we have not only student learning occurring but also teacher learning. they collaborate together the work together and it’s what benefits our students,” said Wadas.
Wadas said that this is the second year that they are doing this professional development program. She stated that it worked out well last year and so far the teachers have been very receptive and are working hard in their groups.
Edison Local School District students return to school on August 26.
