A small plane made an emergency landing near a natural gas well pad along Route 89 near the Marshall County-Wetzel County border Wednesday afternoon.

EMA director Tom Hart said everyone managed to get out of the plane safely.  Fire units from Marshall and Wetzel Counties responded to the scene along with EMS from Wetzel County.

No damage was done to the small-engine plane. Officials said the engine on the plane cut out and would not restart.

The men on the plane were businessmen. Hart believes they were flying from the Columbus area.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified about the incident.

The well pad is owned by Southwestern Energy.

Christina Fowler, Southwestern Energy spokeswomen, said they are not able to provide any information right now, but they are working with local authorities to investigate the incident.Check WTRF.com for any further updates on this story.
