Finishing Touches Going on Beech Bottom Home for Deserving Family

Work crews are putting the finishing touches on a home in Brooke County that is going to a lucky family in need. The Business Development Corporation and the village of Beech Bottom decided to work together to give the family a home that otherwise would have sat vacant.

Wells Fargo contacted the city officials during the fall about the foreclosed home. Instead of letting it sit there, the city officials were able to reach out to the BDC, who got in contact with churches to find someone who was in need and deserving of the new home.

Weirton Lumber, Marsh Pipe and Supply, Jimco Plumbing and Lowe’s are donating many of the materials the BDC needs for the project. The Beech Bottom fire chief also got involved by donating smoke detectors for every room, two fire extinguishers and a carbon monoxide monitoring system with battery backup.

The contractor working on the project, The Lawn Barber, has been working through the holidays to have the home ready by late January.
