A fire at the Ashton Woods complex on Cindy Drive occurred Sunday afternoon. Several fire departments responded to the fire around 1:30 p.m.

WTRF morning meteorologist Brian Davis and his family were the residents renting the townhouse that caught fire.

The Cumberland Trail Fire Chief said the fire started in the utility room, which is in the rear of the bottom floor of the apartment complex.

He said the fire appears to be accidental and there is no exact cause.

The damage is reported as repairable, but the Davis family will not be able to live there for a long time.

Brian, his wife Dana, their three children and dog all made it out safely. Brian said he is moved by all of the support the Ohio Valley has stepped up to give his family, “Well I want to say to the community. I’ve never seen a community pull together so much. And I’ve been to a lot of communities in disaster, and I’ve helped a lot of people in disaster. But I never thought that it was gonna be me. Like Noah said, he hugged me and we cried a little bit and said you know, we’re gonna be OK. We’re gonna be OK.”

If you are interested in helping Brian and his family, a gofundme account has been set up at this link: http://www.gofundme.com/sftg68
