Several creeks and streams across the Ohio Valley saw minor flooding Sunday morning.

According to Marshall County EMA Director Tom Hart, Little Grave Creek in Glen Dale and Middle Grave Creek in Moundsville both saw minor flooding.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh said the Flood Warning for rain and snowmelt in Ohio, Marshall, and Brooke Counties expired 10 a.m.

The Flood Warning was extended for Fayette, Greene, Washington, Allegheny, and Westmoreland Counties in southwestern Pennsylvania.

At 6:34 Sunday morning, Doppler radar and automatic rain gauges indicated that heavy rain was continuing to fall over the area. As of 6:30, an average of one inch of rain had already fallen, with some locations over an inch and a half.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to a half an inch will be possible in the warned areas.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
