Former Coach Saddened Over Football Program Suspension


The Fighting Irish Football team has been benched for the 2016 football season, and questions loom about the future of the Fighting Irish football field.

It was a team effort done by Paul Rose, Jeff Paolina, and so many in the community that took a lot full of trash and turned into a place the Fighting Irish could call home. Now with no football team, the stands might not fill up on Friday nights, this fall, “People would never understand, unless you were in coaching, the nine-game schedule,” said former St. John’s football coach, Paul Rose.trials and tribulations that you would have only having 16 kids and playing a full

16 players, that’s how many students were on the team during some of the final years Rose was the coach. This year only 13 students showed interest in playing.

Rose sadly agreed, that is was the best choice to suspend the football team this year, but he’s hopeful for a better outcome next year.
