A former West Liberty University student and athlete is facing serious charges after an eventful night on campus.
21-year-old Eric Michael Vandenbossche is now facing felony charges for malicious assault and unlawful restraint after an incident that took place late last night.
We’ve been working with West Liberty Campus Police to get the details on what happened during the incident, and we are still waiting for the criminal complaint to be completed.
University President, Stephen Greiner has put out this statement about the incident:
“West Liberty University is aware of the arrest of a former student last night. The safety of our students is always our first concern and we are grateful that the victim turned to our Campus Police. We are deeply concerned about her and all victims. Since this is an ongoing investigation, we will continue to do all we can to assist in this matter.”
Vandenbossche remains in the Northern Regional Jail on a $5,000 cash only bond and was arraigned by Ohio County Magistrate, Patty Murphy.
