Patricia S. Reed was appointed by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin as Commissioner of the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles Tuesday morning, replacing retiring DMV Commissioner Steve Dale.
Previously, Reed served two terms in the West Virginia House of Delegates and twelve years as County Commissioner of Raleigh County.
“I’m grateful for Steve Dale’s years of service to the state of West Virginia and his commitment to moving the DMV forward through the increased online transaction capabilities. I wish him all the best in his years of retirement,” Gov. Tomblin said. “As an entrepreneur and owner of two successful businesses, Pat Reed has focused her career on leadership and maintaining strong relationships with others.”
Before beginning her service as Deputy Commissioner in the West Virginia Office of the Insurance Commissioner, Reed was the owner and principal agent of Pat Reed Insurance Agency.
