O’Brien was arrested on Sept. 25, 2014 after police say he violently injured his live-in girlfriend.

In the police report, the victim claimed O’Brien stomped on her ribs, pushed her, punched her, then pushed her face into a couch, grabbed her hair and twisted her neck, reportedly telling her “he was going to kill her,” and reportedly said “she was nothing.” The report also stated O’Brien pushed her down a stairwell and then began choking her again until she lost consciousness.

The victim said she and O’Brien were in a dating relationship and resided together at the residence where the incident occurred.

Police said O’Brien and the victim were both charged following the weekend incident, however, upon seeing the extent of the victim’s injuries, charges against her were later dropped and the attempted murder charge was filed against O’Brien.

O’Brien is being held in the Northern Regional Jail under $150,000 bond.
