When it comes to entertainment and fun for the whole family, there are several things to do around the Ohio Valley, and a big park in our area is continuing to expand.
Grand Vue Park is constantly growing and developing new ways to allow you and your family to enjoy the hills of the Ohio Valley.
There are plenty of adventurous activities you could plan a fun getaway, without going far.
“In the Ohio Valley this is just another part of what we have to offer in this area and we’re very excited to be apart of that and in this area we have so many good people,” said Grand Vue Park General Manager Craig White.
The expansion over the last four years has been pretty extensive.
The first big project was installing the zipline canopy tour, then the growth of their nearly 25-miles of mountain bike trails, and just last month they added this $600,000 aerial adventure park.
“There’s all kind of cool stuff here, there’s a lot of history and there’s a lot of culture and there’s a lot of adventure seeking stuff here too; so I definitely think it’s a great place to come visit,” said Jordan Miller.
White says throughout the expansion process they’ve tried to have a balance of adventure and have things suitable for the entire family.
Coming sometime in the near future they’ll debut these new tree house cabins where you and your family could nest for a fun filled staycation.
“Provide something for all ages and sizes is kind of what we were shooting for, because the zipline, let’s face it, is not so much for the smaller kids and now we have some things for the small kids can do as well,” said White.
Good timing and planning is what has lead to a great partnership, between the park and the owner of the Mason Dixon Barbeque, which has allowed the park to really become a more inclusive resort in, right in our backyard.
“They kind of saw the reaction of people coming up to eat the food and they know I wanted to grow the business and it was kind of the perfect timing, because they were wanting to put in a restaurant and provide food to the cabins and things,” said Patrick Fisher, owner of the Mason Dixon Barbeque.
The park also has some nationally recognized activities as well.
In mid April they found out, their black course disc golf has been ranked 26th in the country, and they’re in the midst of adding a third disc golf course.
