One Ohio Valley man is upset about the conditions of a local grave yard.
Eugene McFatridge went to visit his brother’s grave in the Kadesh Chapel in Beech Bottom cemetery on his birthday, and when he got there, what he found upset him. According to McFatridge, his brother’s tombstone has been disrupted and appeared to be removed from the ground. He believes that this happened due to poor care while another grave was being prepared.
“I thought it was vandalism, until I looked around, and but then you know you don’t know, you think you know somebody may have brought a tractor up here, four wheeler, anything. And then go and finally have to call, call, call, and finally got called back and it was a care taker,” .Eugene McFatridge, New Martinsville.
Eugene has filed a police report and has talked to a board member who assured him the stone will be replaced. He says he is now just looking for an face to face apology.
