The Harmony House Children’s Advocacy Center is holding it’s biggest fundraiser of the year in one month. The 11th annual Toast of the Vineyard is set for Saturday, August 1 at the Wheeling Country Club.
From 6:30 to 10:00 p.m., guests can sample wines from around the world and Hors d’oeuvres. There will be a live auction, tip board, and $10 mystery grab bag items. Guests will be able to dance thanks to the music provided by DJ Jim Conner.
Live auction items include a golf package at Oglebay, monthly “date night for a year” restaurant gift cards, two nights at the Barn With Inn bed and breakfast, a weekend cabin with two zip line tours at Grand Vue Park, dinner for six at the Vagabond Kitchen, a $1,000 Studio C photography package, a Mexican dinner for 20 people at your home catered by Ye Olde Alpha, a lithograph “Ocean Calling” by Wyland, and a chance to ride on Santa’s float during the Wheeling Christmas Parade.
While it’s sure to be a great time, the event is also helping out a wonderful cause. Harmony House runs entirely based off of grants, donations and special events.
“This event is really the annual fundraising event that helps us fill those holes in our budget,” said Executive Director Leslie Vassilaros. “And so that way we can go ahead and continue to do wonderful work with our partners in the Valley to make sure that children who are alleging abuse have all of the services they need, including treatment.”
Board President Nat Goudy said they’re hoping to sell 200 tickets this year. “It is a good event, there’s fun, family, friends. We all attend, we all have a good time.”
The tickets are $60 per person and are selling fast. They can be purchased by calling 304-230-2205. For more information on Harmony House and the work they do in the community, you can visit their web site.
