Harmony House Children’s Advocacy Center said they served 532 local children 2015 who were possible victims of abuse.

That’s higher than any number since the agency opened its doors 12 years ago. Executive Director Leslie Vassilaros said the average age of the kids they serve are seven-12, however they do serve birth to six and up to 18 years of age.

She has an important message this holiday season. “With the Christmas holiday coming up, it’s all about fun and loving, laughter, toys for kids,” she said. “But there’s a lot of children that are being abused and so they may not have that same experience that we want for all of our children. So if you know or you suspect, please call so we can save a child’s life.”

Harmony House has centers in Belmont and Ohio Counties. They can be reached at 304-230-2205 or 740-695-0812. For more information: www.harmonyhousecacwv.org.
