A Harrison County mother accused of forcing her six-month-old baby to overdose on heroin has waived her right to a speedy trial and is free on bond.
Brooke Jones is accused on forcing her infant to overdose on heroin.
The incident allegedly happened in September, and since then Jones and Keonte Phiper’s child has been removed from the home.
Both parents have been charged with Child Endangerment, Corrupting Another with Drugs, Possession with Drugs, and Tampering with Evidence.
Police say the baby’s grandmother found her inside the home on Stanton Avenue in Cadiz and took her straight to the hospital, where she was then flown to Pittsburgh for special treatment.
Phifer pleaded not guilty to his charges in October
