Officials are continuing to closely monitor algae levels in Ohio River. They say rain earlier this week has helped lessen the blue-green algae in the water.
Officials say they saw considerably less algae when they looked at the river over the last several days in the Wheeling area.
Although the drinking water is fine and the algae seems to be clearing out the Wheeling Health Department is maintaining a health advisory for the river.
The algae is moving south down the Ohio River.
