Health officials are continuing to monitor the Ohio River in the Ohio Valley for potentially dangerous blue-green algae.
Investigators from the Ohio County Health Department said this week’s rain has actually helped lessen the blue-green algae in the water.
Just looking at the river over the last several days in the Wheeling area, one can see there is considerably less algae.
Although the drinking water is fine and the algae seems to be clearing out, the Wheeling Health Department will continue to maintain a health advisory for the river.
