It’s the largest lease agreement between landowners and gas and oil drillers ever seen in the Northern Panhandle. Gold, Khourey and Turak announced the historic agreement Friday.
It’s between 400 to 500 families and Tug Hill Operating. The area involved is in Ohio and Marshall Counties, and Greene County, Pennsylvania.
They say it represents many months of work plus a cohesive attitude among the landowners of neighbor-helping-neighbor. They say the amount they agreed upon is staggering.
“The total amount that likely will be paid in bonuses is likely to be over 100 million dollars. And that doesn’t even represent the amount of the royalties that are going to be paid so it could be an exponentially larger number, what this would conceivably be worth to the individuals who have participated,” said Jonathan Turak of Gold Khourey and Turak.
Residents who are not members of this land group and have land with mineral rights in Marshall or Greene counties, can still join, and get the same benefits as the original members. The number to call to find out more is (304) 845-9750.
