The country music group Honky Tonk Sweethearts will be holding a charity concert Friday night at the Wheeling Island Casino and Racetrack.
The theme is “women helping women” as the Honky Tonk Sweethearts have teamed up to have the concert benefit the YWCA Violence Prevention program.
The show, called Legends, Outlaws and Petticoats, will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will feature country music from the 30’s until today.
Everyone involved is excited about the event, and this is not the first time the two have teamed up.
“They did a great job for the Over the Edge event last year, and when they approached us that they wanted to help raise funds and benefit the women and children that we help here, we were ecstatic,” YWCA Executive Director Lori Jones said.
The concert will be held Friday night inside the Wheeling Island Casino Showroom. It is expected to run for about two hours.
The band said the show is family friendly.
Tickets are $20 and can be bought at the door, or ahead of time at the Mount DeChantel Kroger.
