Apple added a new feature to the recently released iOS 9 that could end up costing many users hundreds of dollars in data usage each month.
The new feature is called “Wi-Fi Assist,” and it automatically switches the phone from a Wi-Fi network to a cell network if it detects a weak Wi-Fi signal.
Here’s how you can disable the feature, if you’re worried about overage charges.
Step 1: Go To “Settings”
Step 2: Open the “Cellular” Menu
3: Scroll to the bottom of the screen and disable “Wi-Fi Assist”
