Jefferson County Board of Elections officials said they are looking to move from their current location at the Courthouse Annex to the Towers Building on Market Street.
They hope to be moved into the new building by February 20 for the May Primary.
Officials said the idea came about a few years ago as an idea to tear down the building in order to create parking for the courthouse.
Director Diane Gribble said she is excited to move into a newer facility.
“It appears that we are going to have a nice amount of space maybe not be so cluttered and congested like we are here,” said Gribble. “We are absolutely looking forward to it.”
Gribble said they are looking to move into Suite 1 in the Towers Building, which will be accessible to voters, and plenty of parking will be available across the street.
