Two Jefferson County community members are being honored for their hard work and dedication to education in the Ohio Valley.
Tuesday morning, two Educational Service Center were dedicated to board members Ken Simeral and Larry George.
Many community leaders including Jefferson County commission president Thomas Graham, State Rep Jack Cera, and State Senator Lou Gentile were all there to congratulate the men on their achievements.
“Education is so important. Having people like Larry, and Ken and George Ash and the whole ESC, who’s committed to education, I know we have a lot of superintendents here. Education is so fundamental to the success of our children and long turn to having a strong economy. And if you want to strong economy and building strong community, it starts with a good foundation of public education,” said Sen. Gentile.
The ESC serves nearly 10 schools in Jefferson, Harrison and Columbiana counties.
