The 66 year old Jefferson County man who admitted to sexually assaulting numerous women has been sentenced to 12 months of house arrest. Wesley Springer was back inside of a courtroom Thursday morning.
Judge Michelle Miller sentenced Springer to 12 months of house arrest and five years of community control sanctions. Springer’s three charges of gross sexual imposition date all the way back to incidents that occurred between 1982 and 1987. During the hearing, Assistant Prosecutor Jeff Bruzzese read impact statements from the victims.
“You chose to do the unthinkable without guilt. You chose to do evil and then defend evil. you had no remorse for your actions then nor do I feel that you have remorse now,” stated Bruzzese
Judge Miller also ordered that Springer stay away from any child under the age of 18. He must now register as a Tier II sex offender every 180 days for 25 years. Judge Miller says she wants him to enroll in a sex offender class within 30 days of today’s sentencing. Judge Miller told Springer that she hopes that he thinks about the pain he caused this family everyday.
