Jefferson County Nurse Admits to Stealing Pills, Endangering Children

A Jefferson County nurse pleaded guilty to stealing pills and endangering her children while under the influence in court on Monday.

Christina Dennison admitted to the five counts of illegal processing of drug documents and theft of dangerous drugs, including Oxycodone and Vicodin, while on the job. She also admitted to driving while high with her two young children in the car and failure to stop after an accident on a separate date.

Dennison said in court that she developed a pain pill addiction after a prior accident.

Prosecutor Jane Hanlin said on Monday when Dennison was pulled over by the Ohio State Highway Patrol for the April incident with her children, she (Dennison) told the trooper she was on Ambien, Vicodin, anti depressants, and there were two cans of cold beer in the vehicle.

Dennison will be sentenced at a later date after an EOCC evaluation.
