A new chapter began Monday for Jefferson County’s Board of Elections office. After 30 years, they’ve uprooted and moved to their new location at the Towers Building, a couple blocks away from the old building.
Over the last few weeks, employees have been moving over boxes and smaller items and soon all of the voting equipment.
Director Diane Gribble said this has been a big transition for her and the rest of the employees but they’re all ready to start this new chapter in their life.
“Somebody had said to me well it’s like you’re getting a new job without getting a new job and it’s the truth because this is all brand new we still have to work out the kinks and come up with another plan but we are still doing what we know how to do,” Gribble said.
Gribble believes the new location will make operations run a lot more smoothly.
From easier access for voters to get in and out of the building to a larger reception area that not only gives employees more space to work, but for citizens using the reception area to vote.
