John Marshall Teacher Shaves Head for Fundraiser

One teacher at John Marshall High School decided to go bald for a good cause.

The Agriculture and Environmental Science teacher, Nicole Shipman, said she would shave her head if the students raised enough money to help bring John Berisford home.

It was a week long challenge and the students raised over 6 thousand dollars.

Shipman took a seat and got what she calls the shortest haircut of her life, but she says it was all worth it…

“John was a good friend of mine growing up in 4H. I couldn’t imagine my brother or someone else being stuck in China. I wanted to help bring him home. This isn’t over, we need to help him get better and actually get home to his family,” said Shipman.

Shipman also said her pay up was delayed due to some testing at the school, but she says Halloween was a perfect day to do it.
