Last minute preparations are underway Monday at local polling locations across the Ohio Valley.
At the Jefferson County Board of Elections, workers were dropping off voting equipment at various polling locations and filling polling position spots.
Board of Elections director, Diane Gribble, said she encourages every Steubenville resident to read over the City Charter packet that they received in the mail a month ago before they head out to vote.
“That packet will be available at the polls,” Gribble said. “If they give themselves a little bit of extra time, they can go over it ahead of time before they go over to the machines.”
Gribble added she has seen consistent early voter turnout and it’s about the same amount of early voters as back in 2010. She did note however, that there is a bigger influx of people going to the polling locations in person rather than opting to mail in.
Absentee voting ends at 2 p.m. in Jefferson county Monday and polls open Tuesday at 6:30 a.m.
