Late FG Eliminates Monroe Central


A field goal, with 42 seconds left, lifted Grandview Heights to a thrilling 31-29 come-from-behind victory over Monroe Central in the opening round of the Ohio Division VI Region 21 playoffs in Columbus.

The Seminoles carried a 21-7 lead into the third quarter, but couldn’t hold on.

Monroe Central sophomore quarterback Jarrett Hooper completed 20 of 30 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns, as the Bobcats kept ‘Noles senior running back Levi Brown in check with a mere 10 yards on four carries. Brown did return an interception 55 yards for a touchdown.

Monroe Central’s season ends at 8-3.

Grandview Heights moves on to face Lucasville Valley next Friday night.
