Bellaire trailed 21-3 at the half, but rallied for an improbable 29-28 win over a stunned Steubenville Central squad at Harding Stadium on Saturday night.
Bellaire senior running back Brandon Laughman scored three touchdowns, including the game-winner with 40 seconds left in the fourth quarter. He broke a pair of school records with 42 carries for 282 yards. Michael Honeycutt held the previous record of 249 yards in 1988. The previous record of carries was 40, held by two others.
Central’s Michael Barber passed for 249 yards and three scores.
