Linsly jumped on Wheeling Central early, and never looked back in a relatively easy 48-7 win over cross-town rivals Wheeling Central at Wheeling Island Stadium.
Linsly junior quarterback Erick Taylor passed for 191 yards and three touchdowns. One of the scoring strikes went right through Central defensive back John Burkhalter’s hands and into Brady Nanners’ for a 44-yard touchdown. Receiver Zak Kreichbaum tossed a half-back pass to Isiah Harvin for a score. Gage Giovengo, who paid tribute to injured, senior running back Chimechi Oparanozie by wearing his No.22, added a rushing touchdown, along with Matt Hurley contributing a 20-yard TD.
