The hard work of one local business, will go a long way in helping several area children. The Third Alarm Bar presented Easter Seals with a $15,000 check Thursday afternoon.
That was the money raised in their golf scramble held back in May. This was the fifth year for the scramble which has grown bigger each year. Organizer of the scramble start planning the event at least six months in advance.
“We wanted to do something for children and we threw around a lot of ideas but we finally come up with Easter Seals and working with the people out here we just decided to make this our focus, Easter Seals,” said Tom Vapner, owner of the Third Alarm Bar.
Easter Seals officials say the money will be used to buy physical therapy equipment.
